The Trinity GodHeadTHE TRINITY: HOLY AND UNHOLY

What is meant by the word Trinity?

The word itself simply combines two ideas.

Tri meaning three Unity meaning one

Tri + Unity = Trinity

The Trinity describes the biblical reality that God is one Being who eternally exists as three distinct persons:

The Father The Son The Holy Spirit

Not three gods.

One God. Three persons.

Scripture is absolutely clear that there is only one God.

Deuteronomy 6:4 “The LORD our God is one LORD.”

Isaiah 45:5 “I am the LORD, and there is none else.”

1 Corinthians 8:4 “There is none other God but one.”

Yet the Bible also clearly shows three divine persons sharing the same divine nature.

The Father is fully God. The Son is fully God. The Holy Spirit is fully God.

Matthew 28:19 reveals all three together:

“Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

Notice something important.

It does not say “names.” It says “name” (singular).

One divine essence.

Three persons.

EVEN IN GENESIS:

The Trinity appears at the very beginning of Scripture.

Genesis 1:26

“Let US make man in OUR image.”

God speaks using plural pronouns.

The Hebrew word for God used here is אֱלֹהִים (Elohim) — a plural form used with singular verbs, hinting at a complex unity within the Godhead.

We see the Trinity again at Jesus’ baptism.

Matthew 3:16–17

Jesus the Son is baptized. The Holy Spirit descends like a dove. The Father speaks from heaven.

All three present.

WHY GOD REVEALED HIMSELF THIS WAY God is spirit (John 4:24). Humans cannot see Him in His full glory.

So God revealed Himself through the Son.

John 1:14 “The Word became flesh.”

Jesus is called Immanuel “God with us.”

He lived among us. He suffered. He died for our sins. He rose again.

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 summarizes the gospel: Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again.

Through Jesus we can know the Father.

John 14:9 “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”

Meanwhile the Holy Spirit works within believers.

The Greek word for Spirit is πνεῦμα (pneuma) meaning breath, wind, or life-force.

The Holy Spirit:

Convicts of sin Guides believers Comforts the faithful Illuminates Scripture

John 14:26 “The Comforter… shall teach you all things.”

A SATANIC COUNTERFEIT:

Satan has always tried to imitate and corrupt what God creates.

In the last days, Scripture reveals that Satan will create a counterfeit trinity.

A dark mirror of God's design.

The Unholy Trinity.

Revelation chapters 12–13 reveal this satanic trio.

Satan The Antichrist The False Prophet

Each one mimics a role within the true Trinity.

Satan attempts to take the place of God the Father.

The Antichrist imitates the role of the Son.

The False Prophet functions like a counterfeit Holy Spirit, directing worship toward the Antichrist.

SATAN - THE DRAGON:

Revelation 12 describes Satan.

Before the world began, he led a rebellion in heaven.

Revelation 12:4 says he drew one third of the angels with him.

They became demons.

Eventually Satan will be permanently cast out of heaven.

Revelation 12:9 “That old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan… was cast out.”

THE ANTICHRIST - THE BEAST:

The second member of the unholy trinity is the Beast, also called the Antichrist.

Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 describe him.

At first he will appear as a peaceful political leader.

But halfway through the tribulation he reveals his true nature.

He breaks his covenant with Israel. He desecrates the rebuilt temple. He demands worship.

Matthew 24:15 calls this moment “the abomination of desolation.”

Revelation 13:4

“They worshipped the dragon… and they worshipped the beast.”

THE FALSE PROPHET:

The third member of the unholy trinity is the False Prophet.

Revelation 13:11–18 describes him as a powerful religious leader.

He performs signs and miracles to deceive the world.

His purpose is simple.

Convince humanity to worship the Antichrist.

He also enforces the Mark of the Beast.

Revelation 13:16–17

“No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark.”

The mark is connected to the number 666, the number of the Beast's name.

Those who receive the mark will face eternal judgment.

Revelation 14:10 warns of God’s wrath for those who accept it.

WHERE IS THE TRUE TRINITY DURING THIS TIME?

God is still sovereign.

God the Father reigns in heaven.

Jesus will gather the Church at the Rapture.

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

“The dead in Christ shall rise first… then we which are alive… shall be caught up.”

The Holy Spirit currently restrains evil in the world.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 calls Him “the one who restrains.”

When the Church is removed, that restraint is lifted.

But the Spirit will still work to bring people to salvation during the tribulation.

Revelation 7 describes a massive multitude saved during that time.

GOD WINS:

Satan’s counterfeit kingdom will not last.

Daniel 7:21–22 promises that the saints will ultimately triumph.
